Earth Day 2012

Earth Day is a special day to remember our mother earth and the Anderson Farms will be hosting and celebrating this day with a fun and education event on the farm. The event is planned for Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Anderson Farms located at 5700 Privetts Road in Conway. The celebration will take place from 10 am to 7 pm and there will be pony rides, family photos, hay rides, archery, games, pick your own strawberry patch, and much more! You can also enjoy a lunch/dinner place catered by Magnolia’s at 26th of Myrtle Beach, which will feature locally grown vegetables. This will be a great event for the whole family and is an excellent way to enjoy Earth Day!

North Myrtle Beach’s Farmers Market Updates

The City of North Myrtle Beach has recently contracted with L&J Construction, LLC and plan on constructing two new metal-roofed open-air structures and a restroom facility that will be on sire of the city’s Farmers Market on 1st Ave. South. The market is also located near the North Myrtle Beach library and the new facilities will be opening on May 25th. The project will add 4,200 square feet of covered space and this will allow vendors and customer’s relief from the sun and protection from the weather. Also, the site will feature colorful shade sails connecting the two structures. The market will be open from May 25th through fall and the hours of operation will be Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10:00 am till 6:00pm. However, during the times when the market is not open, the new facilities may eventually be made available for rentals, such as reunions, picnics and other types of special events.

Spring has finally sprung and what better way to kick off the season then with a Blues & Jazz Fest at La Belle Amie Vineyard. This festival promises tons of fun, food, and wine! It will take place on Saturday, March 24 and is sure to be spectacular! There will be music from The King Bees and The Shamalama Trio who will be performing throughout the day. You can also enjoy Smokin’ Pitt BBQ, and don’t miss a special tour of the vineyard! And if this weekend isn’t enough, you can enough the 2012 Flip Flop Ball which will be held at the 2nd Avenue Pier on Friday March 30, 2012 from 7-11 p.m.! This ball is held in benefit for the Children’s Museum of South Carolina and will have great food, drinks, dancing, and plenty of entertainment!
